Pricing FAQ

Plain-language answers for common pricing questions from club admins.

Why is my new rule not changing prices?

Check these three items first:

1) Rule is Active
2) Date/time window matches the tee times you tested
3) Rule order is higher than any overlapping rule

Then open Preview in the rule editor and run a sample date/time to confirm the match.

How do I revert to basic pricing?

Option A: Turn off Auto-Yield
Path: Settings > Dynamic Pricing > Disable Auto-Yield

Option B: Disable the dynamic rule
Path: Pricing > Rate Rules > Edit rule > Set Active = false

Can I use templates and auto-yield together?

Yes. Templates create rules, and auto-yield adjusts the final price when dynamic pricing is enabled. If a rule must stay static, enable Disable Dynamic Pricing on that rule.

Why are members seeing different prices?

Member pricing uses member rules and classifications. Check these:

- Member rule is active and has the correct member status/classification
- Visitor rules do not apply to members
- Preview with player type = member

How do I avoid conflicting rules?

1) Keep date/time windows distinct when possible
2) Use higher order for the rule that should win
3) Use Preview to confirm the winning rule

What is a safe starting point for dynamic pricing?

Start conservative:

Min multiplier: 0.95
Max multiplier: 1.10
Run for 2-4 weeks, then adjust

How do I price public holidays?

Create a dedicated rule that applies to public holidays and give it a higher order than regular day rules. Use Preview with Public Holiday = true.

Can I target a single course only?

Yes. Use the course selector in the admin portal before creating the rule so it is scoped to that course.

What if the weather rule feels too aggressive?

Edit the rule and reduce the percentage or narrow the time window. A small change (e.g., -10% instead of -20%) often stabilizes results.

How do I know if auto-yield is working?

Go to Pricing > Dynamic Pricing and check the Pricing inputs card:

- Utilisation
- Top lead-time bucket
- Peak time band

If these are populated, the signals are flowing.

When should I use experiments?

Use experiments when you want proof before changing a rule for everyone. Start with one change, 10-20% traffic, and a 2-4 week window.

How do I pause pricing changes quickly?

- Pause experiments: Pricing > Experiments > Pause
- Disable a rule: Pricing > Rate Rules > Edit > Active = false
- Disable auto-yield: Settings > Dynamic Pricing > Disable Auto-Yield
